Miss Emma Smith Taken By Death
Miss Emma Smith, 85, died Saturday at the home of her brother, F. E. Smith, and services were held at the Overton Funeral Home Monday, May 6, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. W. M. Scheuermann was in charge. Miss Smith had made her home with her brother and Mrs. Smith for the past 12 years, following the death of her sister, Miss Ella Smith, Dec. 27, 1927. She had been a resident of Indianola since 1879 or 1880, coming here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Smith. She was born in Pennsylvania Sept. 4, 1884. Miss Smith is survived by one sister, Mrs. Robert Best of Hollywood, Calif., and one brother, Frank Smith of Indianola. Indianola Tribune, Indianola, Iowa, Wed., May 8, 1940, p. 1
