Jean Lauderback Canny, 92, of Ottumwa Good Samaritan Center died at 1:40 a.m. July 1, 1999, at the care center.  She was born Oct 2, 1906, in Kirksville, Mo., to John William and Mable Vincent Lauderback.  She graduated from Drake University.  She was a teacher in Ottumwa for 20 years.  She was a member of First Christian Church for 62 years, a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 12, a member of ADK Teacher's Sorority, Retired Teacher’s Association, Ottumwa Hospital Auxiliary and Ottumwa Women's Club.  She is survived by two sons, Garold Canny of Montgomery, Texas, and Harold Canny of Sioux City; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Raymond and Arthur Lauderback; and three sisters, Stella Sheets, Daisy Chisman and Bessie.  The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. Michael Richter of First Christian Church Officiating.  Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.  Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
