Tuesday, March 16, 1948Abraham Wilson Hobbs, 81, of 320 North Jefferson street, died today at approximately 5 a.m.
The son of William and Sarah Jane Hobbs, he was born February 1, 1867 in Mahaska county.
A resident of Ottumwa for the past 65 years, he was a cement construction foreman here for many years and later worked for the Ottumwa Gas company for about 25 years.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Sarah; two sons, J. A. Hobbs of Burlington and S. P. Hobbs of Ottumwa; several nephews and nieces; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren..
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
The body will remain at the Traul funeral home pending completed arrangements.

HOBBS FUNERAL.
Funeral services for Abraham W. Hobbs, 81, of 320 North Jefferson street, who died Tuesday morning will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Traul funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Charles R. Lawrence, pastor of the Benton Street Presbyterian church.Pallbearers will be Milwaukee railroad employees. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
The body will remain at the Traul funeral home.
