Clarence Daniels

OTTUMWA - Clarence M. "Pete" Daniels, 83, of 912 E. Williams St. died at 10:04 a.m. Sept. 9, 1993, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born Sept. 7, 1910, in Ottumwa to John and Edna Mabel Tanner Daniels. He married Virginia Deal on Nov. 11, 1933.

A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, he started in the tire business in 1935 with Smith The Tire Man, which he later owned. He was an employee for Pangborn Tire, managed General Tire and was shop foreman for Black's Tire, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Ottumwa Regional Health Center Auxiliary.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Pat Black of Ottumwa and Carla Heaton of Bloomfield Route 3; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and two sisters, Alice Brown and Margaret Morrow of Douds.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Joann Danield; three sisters, Edith Renes, Mabel Higdon and Elizabeth Daniels; and two brothers, John and Art Daniels.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, the Rev. Richard Quinlan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa.

Visitation is open after 10 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30p.m.

Pallbearers will be Tom and Travis Black, Gary Jr. and Gregory Heaton, Mike Hendren and Danny Boos.

Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodists Church.
