Frank Aringdale

Frank Harris Aringdale, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1993 at Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant.

Born August 8, 1903 at Columbus Junction, Iowa, he was the son of Charles and Ella Shook Aringdale. He married Eunice Dorothy Metzger on Feb. 19, 1926 in Henry County.

Mr. Aringdale had farmed in the Columbus Junction area, retiring in June 1968 and moving to Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Farm Bureau and was a township director for 16 years. He was a Federal Land Bank director for Louisa and Muscatine counties and was past president and past secretary for the American Association for Retired Persons, working at the group's tent at the Midwest Threshers Reunion for 18 consecutive years.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Arlene Reighard of Cedar Rapids, Doris Aringdale of Mt. Pleasant and Evelyn Williams of Birmingham; a son, Robert Aringdale of Burlington; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

The funeral for Mr. Aringdale was at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 10, 1993 at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial was in Columbus City Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
