Vernon Snider

Vernon H. Snider, 71, Farmington, died Monday, June 21, 1993, at the Henry County Health Center, Mount Pleasant. His health had been failing the past three months, turning serious in the last two weeks.

He was born June 6, 1922, at Lee County near Farmington, the son of Orville and Grace Mildred Foster Snider. On October 20, 1951, he married Martha Auwaerter at Fort Madison. She survives.

Mr. Snider was a farmer, retiring in 1991, and a lifelong resident of Lee County. He was an Elder at his church, Sharon Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Greg Vernon Snider, Reinbeck; two sisters, Mildred Herron, Lancaster, California, and Shirley Fleming, Eldora; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 23, at Sharon Presbyterian Church the Reverend Tim Snart officiated. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Sharon Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be left at Barr Memorial.
