Louise Ornduff

Louise Ornduff, daughter of Eldridge and Pearl Carter McCarty, was born May 15, 1929, at Stronghurst, Illinois and departed this life the evening of Thursday, June 24, 1993 in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua, after suffering heart failure at her home in Douds.

She married Richard Ornduff May 15, 1949 at Millersburg, Iowa. He died July 24, 1987. They had lived in Aledo, Illinois, many years in Davenport and moved to Douds in 1986.

Louise had been a hostess at Bishop's Cafeteria in Davenport and was currently Douds Senior Citizens Meal Site Coordinator.

Remaining to cherish her memory are a son, Kenny and his wife, Jan, of Birmingham, a daughter, Deborah Jeys and her husband, Joe of Davenport, five grandchildren, Robert, Jessica and Mindy Ornduff and Andrew and Emily Jeys, her mother, Pearl McCarty of Douds, a brother, Robert McCarty and his wife, Marcene of Fairfield, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 28, 1993 at 11 A.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.

A memorial was established for the Douds First Responders.
