George M. Mathias
George M. Mathias, 90, formerly of Selma died April 15, 1993, at Rochester, N.Y.
He was born Feb. 24, 1903, in Douds to George and Stella Mercer Mathias. he married Bessie Ransom on Oct. 18, 1922, in Fairfield. She died in 1985.
He lived most of his life in the Selma area. He had been employed as a meatpacker for John Morrell & Co., before retiring in 1968. He moved to Rochester, N.Y. in 1989.
He is survived by three sons, Clifford of Rocherster(err), N.Y., Junior of Birmingham and Roy of Russell; two daughters, Marie Sutton of Rochester, N.Y., and Barbara Crum of Bondurant; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Ruth Johnson of Scraanton.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21,, 1993 at Iowaville Cemetery near Selma.
Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home, Eldon was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials have been established.
