Alta Ora Gonterman, 87, died August 6, 1989 at the Corydon Care Center, Corydon, Iowa.
She was born March 2, 1902 to William and Inez Jackson Ancell, near Quincy, Illinois.
She married Lester Gonterman on July 25, 1920. They lived and worked in various locations in Iowa, Missouri and Kansas before settling in Promise City, Iowa.
She is survived by three children, Jack, Bonaparte, Dona Brinkman, Mesa, Arizona and Jerald, Corydon; two grandsons and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mabel Murphy, Des Moines, and Mildred Van Trump, Texas; and one brother, Carroll Ancell, Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, three children, Junior, Joy and Janet, one sister and one brother.
