Alice G. Talbott

Alice G. Talbott, daughter of Rev. Eugene K. and Stella Resor Parrott, was born May 14, 1919 at Daville(?), Iowa and died the morning of Friday, April 21, 1989 at University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa at the age of 69. She graduated from Luray, Missouri High School and attended John Fletcher College, and taught in rural schools.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Douds and United Methodist Women, had been a long-time Sunday School teacher, and was a member of John Hyson Reneker Unit No. 494, American Legion Auxiliary at Douds. Alice married Robert W. Talbott of Douds August 4, 1943 at El Paso, Texas and they lived their married life in Douds. Bob died July 9, 1982, and Alice moved to an apartment in Wayland in 1986. Her parents, a sister, Nellie Meyers, and a brother, Lyman Parrott also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Talbott, Morris, Illinois, threed(err) daughters, Sata Bertsch, Saline, Mich., Linda Peacock of Palmdale, California, and Barbara Hesseltine, Mt. Pleasant, eight grandchildren, a brother, Rev. Glenn Parrott, Burlington, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, 1989 at 10 A.M. in Christ United Methodist Church, Douds, with Rev. Stephen Metcalf-Conte officiating. Interment was in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds. A memorial was established for the Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
