Joann Fye

Joann Fye, 46, Farmington, died at 2:05 a.m. October 2, 1989 at Keokuk Area Hospital. She had been ill for some time.

Mrs. Fye was born July 7, 1943 at Keokuk. She had been a Farmington resident for 25 years. She had worked at the Sheller Globe Corporation in Keokuk and owned Fye's Tavern in Farmington. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk.

On January 25, 1964 at Keokuk, she was married to Leland Fye, who survives.

Also surviving are her adoptive parents, Bill and Joy Donaldson, Keokuk; two sons, Mark of Schaumburg, Illinois and Cole of Farmington; a daughter, Terri Story, Farmington; three brothers, Charles Newberry, Springfield, Illinois, Jim Newberry, Tampa, Florida, and Jack Newberry, Warren, Ohio; two sisters, Janice Steffen, Keokuk, and Helen Jackson, Alford, Florida; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers and two grandchildren. Her parents were Gilbert and Margaret Brookhart Newberry.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 4, 1989 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. The Reverend William Mitchell officiated. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

A memorial is being established with the Cancer Fund. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
