Leon Lyons

Services for Leon Lyons, 75, 1507 35th St., were at 1:30 p.m. today, Jan. 18, at the King-Lynk Funeral Home. Dr. Raymond Boulter officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Lyons died at 2:22 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. He had been in failing health six months and seriously ill one day.

He was born Feb. 17, 1912, at Farmington. He was a retired employee of the Keokuk Steel Castings Co. and was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church and the United Steelworkers of America. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

On Feb. 17, 1934, at Sand Prairie, Ia., he married Georgia Roland, who died Nov. 22, 1985.

Surviving are a step son, Wallace Reid, Fort Madison; two sisters, Mrs. James (Coral) Richers Hunter, Fort Madison, and Mrs. Lilliam Kramer, West Burlington; nephews and nieces.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a step son. His parents were Ernest and Rose Vierhelig Lyons.
