Robert N. Clendenen

Robert Neil Clendenen, 72, of Milton Route 1, died at 6:07 a.m. Feb. 27, 1988, at his home.

He was born July 6, 1915, in Davis County to Robert Stanley and Anna Francis Lippsett Clendenen. He was a farmer and was a patrol operator for the Davis County Secondary Road Department for several years. He was a lifetime resident of Davis County and attended Pulaski United Methodist Church. He married Pauline Hayes on Feb. 23, 1935, in Lancaster, Mo.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Jerry of Indianola; three daughters, June Merzanis of North Ridge, Calif., Karen Riffle of Fort Worth, Texas and Karol Goss of Hayward, Calif.; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three brothers, Ben of St. Louis, Mo., Howard of Des Moines and Jim of Indianola; and a sister, Betty Erhardt of West Burlington. The service was held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the Rev. Alan Birr officiating. Burial was in Barker Cemetery, in Scotland County, Mo.

Memorials have been established to his church and the American Heart Association.
