Hazael H. Burden

Hazel Hall Burden, daughter of Elias J. and Clara Arnold Hall, was born July 15, 1892 in the Winchester community between Birmingham and Stockport and died Tuesday morning, March 1, 1988 at her home on Route 1, Stockport at the age of 95.

She moved to her present farm with her parents at the age of two. On September 16, 1925 she married Clarence J. Burden who passed away in 1966. Two sisters, Mabel Moore and Edith Gilchrist, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty Ruth Gwinnup of Route 1, Stockpor5t, who shared the family home with her mother.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 4, 1988 at 2 p.m. in the Birmingham United Methodist Church with Reverend Shirley Rozendaal officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements. A memorial was established for the Stockport Senior Citizens Center.
