Helen L. Puffinbarger

Helen L. Puffinbarger, daughter of Fred Samuel and Fern Addebelle Platt Douthart, was born April 9, 1918 at Fairfield and died Tuesday morning, April 21, 1988 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 70.

She married Floyd Puffinbarger April 9, 1938 in Fairfield. They farmed in Jefferson and Van Buren counties until moving to Birmingham in 1954. Mr. Puffinbarger died June 5, 1974.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Elma Barr and Mildred McFarland, and three brothers, William, Milton and Junior Douthart.

Surviving are three brothers, Ralph Douthart, Bloomfield, and Kenneth and Courtland Douthart, both of Bonaparte, and a sister Deloris Houser, Glendive, Montana.

Mrs. Puffinbarger was a member of the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Fairfield.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23, 1988 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Reverend Phil Campbell officiating. Interment was in Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial was established for the American Lung Association.
