FRANCIS ORVILLE THOMAS

Orville Thomas, son of Alfred and Minnie Baxter Thomas, was born April 25, 1912 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and departed this life Thursday, May 24, 1979 at Van Buren Hospital, Keosauqua at the age of 67.

He had been employed by John Morrell & Company of Ottumwa and had retired in 1962. He had lived in Cantril since 1965 and had mowed 9 cemeteries on a regular basis in Van Buren Couny(err) for several years.

Remaining to cherish his memory are Dorothy and Kathy Davis of Cantril, one brother William of Galesburg, Ill., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Orville will be remembered as a man who was faithful to his responsibilities and was a good neighbor and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 26, 1979 at 2:00 P.M. at Cantril United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward A. Kail officiating. Interment was in Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, Iowa.
