Callie Fae Speer

Callie Fae Speer, daughter of David and Mary Gooden, was born in Scotland County, Missouri, October 1, 1891, and after a short illness and surgery, departed this life at the Scotland County Hospital, November 15, 1972, at the age of 81 years, 1 month, 15 days.

On February 8, 1911, she was united in marriage to Clifford Speer and to this union six children were born, Wayne of Milton, Iowa, Muriel (Mrs. Laverne Harris) of Memphis and the four children who preceded her in death, Victor Richard at six months and three in infancy. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Clifford, the two children, a son and daughter-in-law, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all whom she loved dearly.

She leaves one sister, Cora Francis of Clarion, Iowa; one brother, Earl Gooden of Milton, Iowa; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Early in life she confessed her faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Downing, Missouri.

She maintained a steadfast faith in her master and her children, family and friends were the joy of her life.

She was a devoted wife, mother and a friend to all she loved and no (remainder missing). . . .
