Raymond Slater, 79, son of Mr. and Mrs. Belmer Slater, died May 3, 1980, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Davis County January 7, 1901, and graduated from Milton High School. He married Edna Ogab who survives. He lived in Des Moines for many years where he was employed as a warehouseman for Grocers Wholesale Company. Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Ray Jr., three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two sisters, Faye Johnson and Pauline Wilsie. Funeral services were held May 6 at the Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with Rev. Samuel Hochstatter officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola.
