CARL ROBY

William Carl Roby, 77, died the afternoon of May 18, 1978 at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

He was a retired custodian of the Milton and Cantril cemeteries.

He was born to Estel and Mary Donaho Roby at Stockport on July 23, 1900. He was a lifelong resident of Davis and Van Buren counties. He married Wilma Jean Vanderlinden on June 29, 1927, at Fairfield.

Survivors, his wife of Cantril; a son, Edward of Fort Madison; daughters Eileen Boyd of Des Moines and Bonnie Alexander of Seymour; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Anderson of Fullerton, Calif.; and a brother, Joe of Chicago.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 1978 at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the Rev. Merrill Yoakam officiating. The casket was closed at the beginning of the service. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton. Memorial: Iowa Heart Association.
