Charles Davidek was born at Toledo, Iowa, July 12, 1891. Here he grew to manhood, and attended the public schools. He left school to work in the U. S. Filler & Paper Mill at Tama. July first he went to Chicago to visit a friend. He returned to his work July seventh. The same evening he was taken sick, and upon consulting a physician he was advised to isolate himself until the throat trouble with which he was troubled developed. He came to the home of his aunt, Mrs. Henry Giebert, in Toledo, where he was tenderly cared for. Death occurred early Monday morning, from diptheria. Because of the contagious disease, the funeral was private, Monday afternoon. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The funeral service will be held at the Presbyterian church, Sunday morning at 11 o'clock.

Charles Davidek was the only son of Joseph Davidek, of Tama. The family formerly made their home in Toledo, where the wife and mother preceded Charles in death, July 26, 1909. Charles Davidek was a manly young man, and the bright young life will be missed by many friends and associates. The sympathy of the entire community is with the father in his great loss.
