Charles Weaver was born June 17, 1869 in Chelsea, Iowa, and died May 14, 1910, being stricken with apyplexy. His last illness lasted but eight hours. In 1892 he was marrried to Miss Barbara Holpuch and to this union were born six children: Ella, James, Arthur, Frank, Gladys, and Wilfred.

Mr. Weaver was a very intelligent man and was the inventor of a rail joint which prominent railroad people pronounced a great improvement over the old method of joining. He has been engaged in business in Chelsea for several years. Before this he was a well known railroad man on the C. & N. W. Ry. He was a kind, generous hearted man and enjoyed a happy home life. He was a highly respected Mason and had a large host of friends.

He was buried from St. Joseph's church, Tuesday morning. The funeral was attended by a large crowd of relatives and friends from far and near.

Besides the wife and children the deceased leaves to mourn, his mother, Mrs. Mary Weaver, of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Fred, of Pasadena, California, and Joseph of Chelsea; and a sister, Mrs. Witousek, of Cedar Rapids.
