The happy home of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore P. Rehder, of Berlin, was darkened by the entrancce of the angel of death, claiming the life of their infant daughter, Florence Anna. She was born on December 17th, 1903, at Berlin, and was dedicated to the Lord in Holy Baptism. Surrounded and guarded by the most tender love, she grew up like a sweet flower, beautiful in soul and body. All who knew her loved her. On Saturday, June 20th, she began to complain of a headache which was gradually increasing in violence. The family physician discovered at once the symptoms of that dreaded disease, spinal meningitis. Tho every means known to medical science was employed to save the precious life, the end came at 7:20 on Saturday evening when the little soul took flight to the many mansions in her eternal Father's home. She was six years, six months, and fifteen days of age and leaves a father and mother and younger brother to mourn her loss. We laid her to rest on Sunday afternoon, the funeral services conducted by Rev. E. Rall were held at Maple Hill cemetery, as the late home was still under quarantine,. Many and beautiful were the floral decorations, a wreath of white flowers was given by the Evangelical Sunday Schol, of Berlin of which Florence had been a member. Lovely she appeared in her white casket among the flowers and we could not help recalling the Master's words "The child is not dead but sleepeth."
