OBITUARY

Funeral services for Stanley William Behrns, 51, of 23223 146th Street, Elk River, MN 55330, were held Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Central Lutheran Church in Elk River. Pastor Cedric Olson officiated at the funeral service. Burial was at Meadowvale Cemetery in Elk River.

Stanley died at his home on Dec. 7, 1996. Casket bearers at the service were Timothy, Thomas, Terrence, Tony and Theodore Inman, Theodore and Christopher Schmidt and Mark Duitsman.

Stanley Behrns was born June 11, 1945 at Buckingham, IA, the son of Virgil and Lavera (Petersen) Behrns. He graduated from Traer-Clutier High School in 1963, and later earned credits in engineering.

Stanley was married Aug. 11, 1964 to Carole Arp at Minneapolis, MN. The couple lived in Minneapolis, Fridley, St. Louis Park, and in Elk River, MN. At various times he was part owner of Hoggati's Pizza House, Cinch Newline, Northland Artic Snowmobiles, and Hoffman Engineering.

Stanley was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Elk River. He enjoyed woodworking, was a former member of the Elk River Saddle Club, was a winemaker, enjoyed snowmobiling, music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Behrns.

Survivors include his mother, Lavera Behrns of Traer; his wife, Carol Behrns of Elk River, MN; two sons and their wives, Brent and Michele Behrns and Brad and Bridgette Behrns, all of Elk River; two grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, John and /Sue Behrns of Delhi, IA; and a sister and brother-in-law, Darlis and Ron Gula of Great Bend, PA. He is also survived by his father-in-law, William Arp.
