MRS. L. M. HURT
Mrs. Effie Mae Hurt, wife of Dr. L. M. Hurt, county livestock inspector, died Thursday, Sept 23, at Cedars of Lebanon hospital, Los Angeles, Calif. She resided at 721 Orange Grove ave., Sierra Madre, a resident of Pasadena. Mrs. Hurt was a native of Story county, Iowa, but had lived in California 32 years. Besides her husband, Mrs. Hurt is survived by a daughter, Mrs. R. D. Millican, Las Cruces, N. M.; four sons, Thomas L. Hurt of Alhambra, Maj. Ross Harrison Hurt, Washington, D. C., Donald Edgar Hurt, Pasadena and Capt. Robert Glenn Hurt, Governors' Island, N. Y.; a brother, Dr. H. C. McKim, Huntington Park, and three grandchildren. Mrs. Hurt was a member of the Central Christian church; Pasadena Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; the Shakespeare Club, and the Iowa State College Alumni Association of Southern California. She had also been active in the work of the Parent-Teachers' Association in Pasadena.
