Joyce Irene Wissler
Sept. 5, 1929-Oct. 12, 2004

Joyce Irene Wissler was born on Sept. 5, 1929 in Fairfield to Eldon and Mary Sipe. She died on Tuesday, Oct. 12. She was preceded in death by husband, Harvey. Survivors include four daughters, Terry (Peter) Wissler of Fresno, Calif., Randi Wissler Mitchell of Austin, Texas, Janna Wissler of San Francisco, Calif. and Holly Wissler of Tallahassee, Fla. and Cusco, Peru; one son Tom Wissler (Elizabeth) of Nevada; and three grandchildren, Kelly Wissler of Austin, Texas, Jesse Wissler of Iowa City and J'aime Mitchell of Olympia, Wash.

She lived in Nevada for 37 years where she was a member of the Methodist Church, PEO, and Nevada Women's Club. She taught Sunday School and Bible School, and was chairman of the building committee that built the Sunday School addition to the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Story County Library Board for a number of years, and served as its chairman. She was Story County Republican co-chairman and state chairman of Republican workshops. She served on the Gates Board, co-chaired Nevada Bi-centennial activities, and was a member of Nevada Historical Society, as well as being active in many other civic endeavors of Nevada.

She and Harv retired in 1990 to Rio Verde, Ariz. where she was Chairman of the 18-hole Women's Golf Association, and President of the Rio Verde Country Club Board. Ashes will he interred in the columbarium at Rio Verde Community Church in Rio Verde, Ariz. Her kindness, generosity, wit, and loving ways will sincerely be missed by all who knew her.

There will be a Memorial Service for both Joyce and Harvey Wissler at 4 p.m. Nov. 12, at the United Methodist Church in Nevada.
