M.A. "Bud" Glantz
October 8, 1918-March 5, 1995

M.A. "Bud" Glantz, 76, died of cancer on Sunday, March 5 at his home in Nevada. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada with Rev. Father John Herzog officiating. Burial was at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by Nevada V.F.W.

Bud was born to Carl W. and Maggie L. (Owens) Glantz in Grinnell. He had lived in Nevada for 40 years. In September 8, 1943 he married Geraldine A. Lolwing in Leavenworth, Kan. He was a service manager for Mathison Motor Co., retiring in 1982 and then worked part-time as a salesperson for Gunderson Motor Co. from 1982-1989. He was a decorated WWII U.S. Army Veteran.

He belonged to the Ames Area Bowling Association and was a 30 year member. For 18 years he was a member of the Indian Creek Country Club and the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, both of Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; two sons, Michael A. and wife, Linda B. Glantz, and Rexford J. and his wife Orene F. Glantz, both couples from Ankeny; four grandchildren, Jody M. Thomas of Ankeny, Lisa M. Glantz of Ames, Allan Boehmer and Brian L. Boehmer of Ankeny; one great-grandchild, Chase R. Thomas; four sisters, Vila Krausman of Nevada, Charlotte Houston of ElGranda, Calif., Gwen Glantz of Englewood, Colo., and Norma Preston of Marshalltown.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions have been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary of Nevada handled the funeral arrangements.
