Last Rites For Mrs. Fitzgerald Held Saturday

Funeral service for Mrs. Marguerite Fitzgerald, 66, 1118 Tenth street, Nevada, who died in the University Hospital, Iowa City, Wednesday, Aug. 10 were held from St. Patrick's Catholic church Saturday at 10:00 a. m.

Officiating at the last rites were the Rev. J. J. Brickley of Nevada assisted by the Rev. A. P. White of Colo and the Rev. John F. Ryan of Ames.

The music was furnished by St. Patrick's church choir, with Mrs. Lawrence Doser at the organ.

The casket bearers were all nephews of the deceased, Adrian Heintz, William Heintz, Jim Heintz, Joe Heintz, Wayne Heintz and Jack O'Donnell.

Burial was in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery in Nevada.

Born in Illinois

Mary Marguerite Fitzgerald was born in Chenoa, Ill., March 4, 1894, a daughter of John A. and Mary Heintz who came to Story county in 1909. She attended the Nevada school for one year, driving a horse and buggy to school from their farm home between Nevada and Ames.

She was married to James D. Fitzgerald in St. Patrick's church in Nevada, on Oct. 8, 1919 by the Rev. Michael Nichols. For a number of years they were engaged in farming, living south of Nevada on the Fitzgerald farm. They lived for seven years at Leon, Iowa, where they bought a farm. They had also farmed for two years on the Hopkins farm north of Nevada.

Following the death of her husband in 1945 she moved into Nevada, where she had lived the past 15 years.

She was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, a member of the Catholic Ladies' Guild, the Fatima Study Club and other church organizations. She had been a long time member of the Sunny Central Club.

Surviving are two sons, James Don Fitzgerald of Kelley and Robert C. Fitzgerald of Nevada, and by one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Smith of Nevada. She also leaves 15 grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Low F. Heintz, Harold Heintz and George Heintz of Nevada and Fred Heintz of Colo and by two sisters, Mrs. Roy F. O'Donnell of Colo and Mrs. Ann Rae of Brookfield, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1945 and her brother, Edward Heintz, March 11, 1950.
