John Scott of Gilbert Dies
GILBERT--John Scott of Gilbert died Wednesday at 9 p.m. at the Story county hospital in Nevada. He had been ill for a year with a kidney ailment.
Mr. Scott was 90, born Feb. 19, 1863 in Story county. He had been a lifetime resident of the county with the exception of two years spent in South Dakota.
He had farmed until 1936 northeast of Ames. He was a member of the Christian church.
He was married to Isabel Noble Dec. 14, 1892, near Ames.
His wife survives him, together with brothers Will of Mankato, Minn., and Joseph of Parker, S. D.; sister Mrs. Carrie Faidley of Ames. Brother Frank preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Adams Chapel here with the Rev. LaVerne Ervin of the Christian church and the Rev. Helen B. Turner of the Gilbert church officiating.
Burial will be in Ames municipal cemetery.
