BEULAH EMILY SPIVEY

Funeral services for Beulah Emily Spivey, 78, of 1113 L Avenue, Nevada, will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Spivey died Thursday, September 26, after a long illness.

She was born in 1896 in Park County, Indiana, to Ellen and Mark Lewis Grimes.

On December 10, 1914, she married Alious Spivey and the family moved to Iowa in 1921. In this state, the Spiveys spent three years in the Cedar Falls area before coming to Story County in 1924.

Mrs. Spivey was a member of the Hickory Grove Community Club and the Baptist Church in Story County.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Eunice) Shickell and Martha Shaw, both of Nevada; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Esther) Ray of Kingmaan, Indiana; four brothers, John and David of Fillmore, Indiana, Grant of Tangier, Indiana and Basil of Huxley.

Also surviving are grandsons Keith Shickell of Minneapolis, Lowell Shickell of Viroqua, Wisconsin, Murray of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and six great grandsons.

Rev. Basil E. Grimes of the Westminister United Presbyterian Church in Des Moines will officiate the Monday services.

The family will be at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada to greet friends and relatives Saturday and Sunday evening.

A memorial fund has been established for Mrs. Spivery. Contributions can be left at Cook's Grocery on Lincolnway.
