Relatives from Away At Smith Funeral

Here from out of town to attend the funeral Tuesday of Jacob William Smith were, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bull, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Bull of Coon Rapids, Mrs. Dorothy Brannon and Glenn Bull from Lake City, niece and nephews of the deceased and Dr. and Mrs. Clayton Bennett of Perry.

Jacob William Smith, son of Angelina Irene Bodiam [sic] and William John Smith was born in McFall, Missouri May 4, 1874 and died Feb.14, at the St. Thomas Mercy Hospital, Marshalltown. Frank P. Hladky, Pastor of the Presbyterian church conducted services at the Ryan Funeral Home. Mrs. Arthur Hale was at the organ.

Pall bearers were Lester Brooks, Mervin Brooks, Virgil Brooks, Robert Dawson, Curtis Jacobson, and Richard Settle.

Survivors include two children, Freeman R. Smith of Boone and Mrs. Orson Dutton, Nevada; three grandchildren, Margaret Dutton Nady, Nevada; Freeman E. Smith of Rochester, Minn. and Dennis R. Smith of Des Moines, and seven great grandchildren.
