Sharp services Tuesday

NEVADA - Clara N. Sharp, 83, died Friday at the North Grand Care Center in Ames following aa four-year illness.

Services for Mrs. Sharp will be held at Ryan Funeral Home here on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Walter E. Lack officiating. Interment will be at the Nevada Cemetery

Clara Sharp was born February 18, 1894, to Lars Oakland and Helen Vermadahl Oakland at Audubon, Minnesota. She was married to John O. Sharp on July 30, 1918 at Huxley. She had moved to Ames from Nevada four years ago.

Survivors include seven sons - Orville of Long Beach, California, Max of Hampton, Milford of Duluth, Minnesota, Leroy of Maxwell, and John, Richard, and Fred, all of Ames; two daughters - Leota Gamman [should be Gammon] of Ames and Karlene Kenny [should be Kenney] of Des Moines, step daughter Aangeline Erickson [sic] of Maxwell; two brothers - Jacob Oakland of Lyle and Albert Oakland of Albert Lea, Minnesota; three sisters - Martha Hendersen [should be Enderson] of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Mrs. Laura Bokken [should be Bakken], also of Albert Lea; 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, two brothers, and one step-daughter, Jessie.
