Freda Lucille Severeide, 93, of Nevada, died of a stroke on Friday, April 25, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada.

She was born Jan. 12, 1910, in Madison Township, Clarke County, to Franklin P. and Matilda M. (Burgus) Morgan. She lived her childhood on farms north of Murray. She attended Brush College and graduated from Murray High school in 1926. She married Bernard Severeide on Dec. 11, 1936, in Bethany, Mo. She was a supervisor at Donnelley Marketing for more than 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fire Department Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary in Nevada. She enjoyed bowling, watching Cyclone sports events and the summer fishing trips to Minnesota.

Survivors include a niece Raelene Borcherding of Hampton; and two nephews, Eugene Morgan of New Hampton and Aldene Morgan of Osceola.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben in 1965; a sister, Arlene May Morgan; and two brothers, Harold Morgan and Everett L. Morgan.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 29, at First United Methodist Church in Nevada with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has ben established for the American Legion Auxiliary. Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada handled arrangements.
