Clifford John Lackor was born at Elwood, Clinton county, Iowa, October 13, 1875. In 1888 he moved to Ruthven with his parents, and in 1889 was baptized and joined the Christian church. He was married to Mary Knivsland January 16, 1891 and moved to Story City in 1906, where he lived most of the time up to his death. He had been in failing health about four years.

Death came June 15, 1924, at the age of 48 years, 8 months and 2 days.

There remain to mourn his death, his wife, three children, Mrs. Jesse Hall, Roland, Myrtle and William, his aged mother, three grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held by Rev. Paulsrud in the Bethel church June 18. The pall bearers were Gus Ness, Eli Olson, Palmer Olson, Lewis Jorgenson, G. H. Templer and John Heggen.

The last two years he had been a member of the Men's Bible Class of the Grace church, being a regular attendant as long as his health permitted, and taking an increasing interest in things eternal until he was given his release from the bonds of earth.
