OBITUARY

Lauritz Peter Anderson, son of Christian and Martha Anderson was born in Denmark, Sept. 13, 1875.

The family immigrated to this country in 1882 and located at Story City, where they have made their home to the present time. It was here where Lauritz obtained an education, and grew to manhood.

He began his industrial career by engaging in the draying business which he followed for quite a number of years. Having become acquainted with a young woman in the person of Miss Anna Peterson, also of Story City, they were united in holy wedlock April 5, 1905. Into their family circle came two loving sons, now 13 and 10 years old respectively.

During the past six years, out now deceased brother, was manager of the Story City Shipping association, and for the past three years he was a member of the Story City Council, serving in every position of responsibility with efficiency and faithfulness; these substantial characteristics combined with a congenial friendly spirit, won the esteem of the entire community.

As husband and father he was loving and indulgent.

As a young child he was baptized and at the age of 15 was confirmed in the Lutheran church. From his own confession, he did not always keep the vowed he had made to his Lord, for which he expressed regret.

About three months ago it became evident that he was afflicted with a much dreaded disease. It was then that he began to seek God anew, and soon after confessed to have found renewed peace and fellowship with Him. Desiring to honor God and the church all he could during the last weeks of his life, he requested to be received into the church and be served to the emblems of the Lord's supper. Thus he and his companion were received into the fellowship of Grace church, in which act he seemed to find much comfort and satisfaction.

He suffered greatly during his long illness, but bore all in Christian patience and Faith in God.

Death came May 15th, 1924, at the age of 48 years, 9 months, 2 days.

There remain to mourn his departure, his companion, two sons, Everett and Roscoe; his mother; two brothers, Thomas and Thorvald, who reside in Saskatchewan, Can.; and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

May God's presence go with them all to give them comfort and consolation.
