Campbell Funeral Monday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Campbell, 70, who died late Friday night, were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton in charge. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband, Charles E. Campbell, who died December 24, 1914.

The following brief sketch of the life of the deceased was read during the service:

Nina Stratton was born in Story county, Iowa, December 22, 1862 and died May 19, 1933 Age 70 years, 4 months and 27 days. In November of 1885 she united in marriage with Charles E. Campbell. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Campbell located on a farm northwest of Nevada. Eight children were born to them. The children are Robert J. of Nevada, Benjamin F. deceased September 29, 1931, Mrs. Merel Kelly of Des Moines, Clifford E. Mrs. Louise Hanus, Miss Florence and Joseph L. of Cedar Rapids, and Clayton A. of Chicago.

Mr. Campbell passed away December 24, 1914. Mrs. Campbell continued to live on the home farm until 1918 when she moved to Cedar Rapids. Early in life she united with the Methodist Episcopal church. For many years she was a member of this church, later transferring her membership to the St. Pauls M. E. church of Cedar Rapids. She remained a loyal member throughout her life.

She leaves to mourn their loss her seven children, two brothers, John Stratton of Nevada and Bert Stratton of Portland, Oregon, one sister, Mrs. Eva Alderman of Seattle, Washington, eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a wide circle of friends.

Mrs. Campbell has been in failing health for some time past. She was interested in her church, her home and her friends.
