Obituary

Roy Clemanthe Housier, son of J. H. and Mary Alice Housier was born at Peebles, Ohio, on October 3, 1892. He passed away at his home in Nevada on Wednesday evening, Nov. 3, 1948, as a result of a heart attack.

As a boy he first moved to Illinois with his parents from Ohio. Later in March of 1909 they came to Story county where they have since resided. Part of this time the family lived on a farm but more recently here in Nevada.

Roy's death occurred suddenly and was quite unexpected. Last June 28, he fell from a scaffold and was seriously injured. Only recently was he able to remove the casts made necessary by fractures suffered in that accident. He had not been very well since this accident.

For eighteen years he worked for the Newton Lumber company and more recently he worked for Lew Larson as a mason.

Besides his parents he leaves one brother Earl of Los Angeles, Calif. One sister Cora Lenora of Nevada. Three sisters died in infancy. He was the oldest of the children.

Roy was the main stay of the family. He worked hard and was dependable not only in relation to the home but for those for whom he worked around Nevada. He was quiet and unassuming. His chief interests were little children and his reading material. He was reading the evening paper when death suddenly came.

Funeral services were held at the Housier home due mainly to the illness of both Mr. and Mrs. Housier, Mrs Housier being an invalid.

Out of Town

Out of town relatives in attendance at the funeral were the cousins, Mrs Orville Leischner, Fisher, Ill., Archie Settle, Fisher Ill., and Orril Suttle of Ottumwa.
