Mr. David Foreman, age 46, of rural Hospers, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at his parents’ home in Orange City.

A visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, September 9, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, September 10, at 10:00am, at the church with the Rev. Thomas Batchelder officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City is in charge of arrangements.

David Michael was born on February 12, 1978, in Orange City, the son of “Rick” Richard and “Lorie” Lorraine (Lund) Foreman. He grew up in Alton and attended Floyd Valley Elementary School in Hospers and MOC-Floyd Valley Middle School and High School in Alton and Orange City. After graduating in 1996, he enrolled in the autobody program at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon. One year later, he began working at C&H Body Shop in Orange City, where he was still employed.

Dave was a lifelong member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City, where he taught seventh and eighth grade Sunday School classes and served as an elder since 2004. In his free time, he looked forward to riding his motorcycles and attending the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with his dad for the past twenty years. He also enjoyed attending rock concerts and was particularly fond of the band Kiss.

At the age of 43, Dave was diagnosed with bone cancer. Despite the numerous doctor’s appointments, treatments, and surgeries, he never complained about his situation. Cancer may have taken his arm, but it did not take away his sense of humor which he often used to put those around him at ease. The outpouring of support from the community always surprised him and he was deeply grateful for the love he was shown during his three-and-a-half-year battle.

He will be deeply missed by his parents, Rick and Lorie, of Orange City; his sister and her husband, Krista and Darin Pals, of Alton; two nieces, Tyra and Dani Pals; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; as well as countless friends.

Memorials will be given to Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City and Orange City Area Home Health and Hospice.
