Sunday, Sept 22, Thomas second son of Wm. Wiley passed from earth away at the age of 15 years and four month. He had been in poor health since early spring and about two weeks before his decease took to his bed where eh suffered greatly from an incurable disease of the stomach. Just before the vital spark fled he shook hands with each member of the family, bidding them farewell, and telling them to meet him in heaven, then passed peacefully away. The funeral services were held Tuesday at the house, Rev. Cole officiating and a large number of sympathizing friends being present. Since the establishment of the first school in Lynn eleven years ago, this is the first death among the pupils, and it casts a gloom over the whole community.
