That week of the Alton Democrat had the page partially ripped away.

John was born to Nicolas and Katherine Kellen in the year about 1875 see the obits of this parents.
There was a John Kellen in the 1885 census of East Orange Tsp. age 9, he was born in MN.

Although the dates of birth very it seems this is the son of Nicholas and Katherine. Could have been more like 16-17 yrs when died.
