Jan Hopman, 83 years old, of Orange City, ended his life on the morning of Aug 16th by hanging himself in his son’s carpenter shop. His son Peter Hopman returned home from work at noon and found the doors of his shop fastened from the inside. He looked through the window and was shocked to see his father hanging by the neck from a rafter. …. He is survived by his aged wife, one daughter Mrs. Mary Slikkerveer, and one son, Peter Hopman. The family resided at Orange City most of the time for the past forty three years.
