HAYSVILLE, KS— Marcene Lee Clark, 82, of Haysville, KS, formerly of Hawarden, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, and the funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Affinity All Faiths Mortuary, 2850 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS. Memorials may be sent to Angel Care Hospice, 8200 E. 34th St., Circle N, Bldg 1800-Suite 1801, Wichita, KS 67226.
Marcene was born in Superior, NE, on Sept. 26, 1939, to Walter and Edith (Thompson)Trueblood. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and great-grammy. Marcene attended Hawarden High School 1955-1956 before moving to Hill City, KS, to live with her sister, Marge and graduated from Hill City High School in 1958
After high school Marcene worked for the telephone company in Hill City, KS, where she met the love of her life Dwight D. Clark and they were married Dec. 18, 1959, in Hill City, KS. They moved to Wichita, KS where they raised their family until 1993, then she moved to Haysville, KS, and lived there until her passing. She attended many of the class reunions in Hawarden, IA, until she couldn’t make the drive anymore due to her health. Marcene worked for USD 259 driving a school bus for many years before landing a job in October 1987 at the Pawnee and Broadway Wal-Mart for 30 years in Wichita, KS, before her retirement. Marcene enjoyed bowling, square dancing, reading, puzzles, collecting frogs and spending time with family but wrestling was her most favorite. She had a contagious smile and a sense of humor.
She is survived by children: Steven T. Clark, Topeka, KS; and Pamela (Robert) Zindel, Julie Clark and Mary Stang (Mike Souchkoff), all of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Jason Clark (Jacque Phillips), Haysville, KS; Troy (Kim) Zindel, Wichita, KS; Ashlee Zindel, Wichita, KS; Hayden Clark (Kylee Davidson), Winston Clark and Harrison Clark, all of Texas; and Anthony Stang, Pittsburg, KS; great grandchildren, Ameara Clark (Jae’Shaun Eaton), Jamil Jones, Jayvion Jones, Lawson Zindel, Layne Zindel, Jaxon Clark, Henry Clark, Zane Stang and Tristan Stang; many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwight D. Clark, of 34 years until his passing in 1993; siblings; Irene Krasinski, Myra “Pete” Adamson, Margaret “Marge” Stark and Robert Trueblood. She will be truly missed by all who knew her and loved her
