From the Alton Democrat, March 8, 1940. Granville news:

The infant daughter, June Carol, of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lantoff passed away at their home at Windom, Minn., on Sunday morning, Feb. 25. The remains were brought to Granville Monday afternoon and laid to rest in the family lot at St. Joseph’s cemetery. Rev. Zeno Reising was in charge of the services at the grave. The remains of the 7-weeks old infant were accompanied here by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lanthoff and daughter Dorothy Jean, Mrs. Mat Reith, all of Windom. Mr. and Mrs. Al Lanthoff of LeMars and Mr. and Mrs. Shearholz of Hartley attended the services.

BABY DIES IN SLEEP

The tiny seven weeks old June Carole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lantaff, died during her sleep on Saturday night. The baby was very small at birth and had not been real strong but was thought to be getting along all right. On Saturday the baby seemed as usual and it was a great shock to her mother on awakening early Sunday morning to discover the baby, just a bud of humanity, had departed this life while she slept. A service was held at Granville, Iowa on Sunday and interment was there. This was the former home of the family before coming to Windom.
