1885 census of Settlers Tsp. Sioux County Iowa lists David Brenner 38 born PA wife Jennie N. Brenner 32 born PA, they had a son Howard B. Brenner who was 8 years old.

A family report on ancestry.com lists Howard Brenner born abt 1877 Iowa died 5 July 1886 USA son of David T. Brenner born 16 Jul 1846 Lancaster Co. PA, died 2 Dec 1922 Canton, SD. His wife was Samantha Bolinger 1853-1882. Their children were Howard 1877-1886, George 1882-1965, Orville 1889-1978, Ivan 1896-1996. He married Emma Rosina Kornder 1866-1943 and had several more children.
