The Alton Democrat, June 14, 1945, Granville news has this note: Born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gaul on Wednesday, a baby girl, who passed away soon after birth. Funeral services and interment were held at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery Thursday afternoon.

Her death certificate has Zeta Germaine Gaul, born May 30, 1945 in Granville, Iowa; parents John Peter Gaul and Marie Martha Arens, both born in Alton, Iowa; age 1 hour 30 minutes; died at 4:30 p.m. May 30, 1945; cause congenital heart disease, duration 1-1/2 hours.

Her FindaGrave.com page adds her parents’ dates, John Peter Gaul (1891-1982) and Marie Martha Arens Gaul (1908-1992); one sibling and four half siblings listed. There is a photo of her headstone: “Zeta G. May 30, 1945.”
