Reppe, Mary Mrs. Allen Cyrus Reppe, born 1928 died Nov 5, 2020
From the Hawarden – Ireton Examiner of Nov 12, 2020
Mary J. Reppe, 92, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Alcester Care & Rehab. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Alcester Baptist Church.

Mary Jeanetta Kratochvil was born April 4, 1928 in Union County, SD to William and Fannie (French) Kratochvil. She graduated from Alcester High School and attended college at SDSU.

She married Allan Cyrus Reppe on April 7, 1952 at Hawarden Baptist Church. They were blessed with 4 children, Calvin, Michael, Douglas and Frances. Mary raised her family, was a Cub Scout Den Mother in Sioux Falls and worked outside her home at Coil Craft, Alcester Steakhouse and Ev’s Grocery Store.

Mary had an unshakable faith in God and was a member of Alcester Baptist Church. She painted with her husband Allan and bred and raised dogs, chows were her favorite. She enjoyed making beautiful felt sequined Christmas stockings for all of her grandchildren, their spouses, her great-grandchildren, some of their dogs and a few for her children. She also made quilts for all 12 of her grandchildren, many sets of embroidered dishtowels for gifts and many other crafts as well. Her dill pickles were a favorite of her family members and she made the best pies, especially her peach pies. She loved watching Twins baseball, bowling, and she loved a good card game and always played to win. In later years, she played a lot of solitaire and enjoyed numbers search puzzles. Summers were spent in her flower and vegetable gardens where much time was spent keeping them beautiful and weed-free.

Mary loved gathering with her friends and family and always wanted to make sure you didn’t go hungry. Mary’s family knew they were the most important focus in her life and that there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them and she’d always do it with a smile. She was an inspiration and she instilled in all her children how important it is to treat everyone with dignity and respect. She also taught us that kindness was to be given to everyone because every person is important, to be forgiving of others and keep past differences in the past.

Mary is survived by her children, Calvin Reppe, Parker, CO, Michael (Debra) Reppe, Centennial, CO, Douglas (Darla) Reppe, Alcester, SD, and Frances (Kevin) Jensen, Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law, June Reppe, Chandler, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan, in 2002; and 6 brothers and their spouses, Leslie, Harry, William “Bill”, Charley, Malcom and Donald.
