Obituary
Last week Tuesday morning, the 2nd of July, our beloved father, Gerrit Zuetenhorst, passed away in the 79-year-old one month and eight days. He had been physically weak for several years, yet he could still go up to God's house now and then. He gladly might gather with the church of the Lord. Lately his powers were taking off rapidly, as he himself realized well that the end of his life was on the mend here on earth. He rejoiced in the finished work of Jesus Christ, spoke of the preciousness of that blood of Jezue, which cleanses from all without, and in his suffering sometimes looked eagerly for the redemption from the body of this death.
Father Zuetenhorst has lived in this area for years. With his departure, another one of the ancients has left. He was a member of the Frist Ref church of Sioux Center, was interested in the welfare of the congregation and in the work of missions. Since the Lord had blessed him, he again desired the here for a moment until the expansion of God's kingdom.

He was the son of Jan Jansz Zoetenhorst 1798-1849 and Hendrina Berendsen 1797-1849. His wife was Alberdina Harmensdr Penterman 1831-1882, They had children as listed Jan Hendrik 1861, Aaltje 1863-1863, Aaltje 1864, Harmen 1868 and Hendrik Gerrit 1873-1959.
