Mrs. Cora Miller passed on at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. J. De Munck, Sunday morning [December 4]. Stricken by illness in her sleep two years or more ago, Mrs. Miller in her helpless condition has been in the devoted care of her daughter. She was 73 years old and up to the time of her illness was active in the social life of the town, where she was a general favorite for her cheery outlook on life.

Born October 25, 1865, in Mankato, Minn., she moved with her parents to South Sioux City when 12 years old. In 1883 she was married to Fred Miller at Elk Point, S.D. Mrs. Miller lived in South Sioux City until 12 years ago when she moved to her daughter’s home at Alton. Mr. Miller died 39 years ago.

While in South Sioux City Mrs. Miller was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Presbyterian Ladies aid; various literary and women’s clubs; Laurel chapter, O.E.S., and the South Sioux City Rebekah lodge.

Gribble of South Sioux City; and four brothers, Alfred and Charles Savidge of South Sioux City, E. J. Savidge of Watertown, S.D., and George W. Savidge of Portland, Ore.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in W. Harry Christy’s Morningside funeral chapel, Sioux City, with Rev. A. C. J. Kellow in charge. Burial was in Graceland Park cemetery.

Mrs. Miller’s sister, Mrs. Gribble, was here the past week assisting in the care of the patient, and Glenn Miller also came from Chicago. Bob De Munck arrived for his grandmother’s funeral and will return to his studies at Ames today, accompanying his uncle on the latter’s return trip to Chicago.
