Today a sensitive blow struck us; unexpectedly due to a terrible accident, our beloved daughter, Hendrika, was torn away from our side, at the age of 7 years, 3 months and 19 days. She was born in Veldwijk, municipality of Ermelo, the Netherlands.
Now we have to enter the new year without her. How gladly we would have kept it, but the Lord had funded it differently than we wish. He will learn eons in His own faithful acquiescence and justify His way with confidence.
We thank all for the many manifestations of our sympathy in our suffering and the ready help given to us. Gerrit Mosterdt and Aaltje (Aartje) Mosterdt Van der Broek and Children Rock Valley IA.

On Thursday a sad accident with a running track corn shelling in this area. That day they were at G. Mustard, 6 miles West of Carmel, shelling with the horse power. A 7 year old girl was playing in the yard and, while everything was in full swing, came too close to the rod that runs to the horse power, with the unfortunate result that her clothes were grabbed and she dragged along and ended up underneath. The poor little one was terribly mutilated and almost instantly killed. The sadness of the parents can't be described. The terrestrial order took place on Friday. Our heartfelt sympathy is with the so hard-tested parents.
