It is our duty to report that P. Noteboom died of pleurisy on Thursday morning at 7 o'clock in Sioux City. The primeval member, who was a widower, was a son-in-law of P. Groeneweg, and leaves seven children to mourn his loss. The remains were transported here and buried in Carmel on Friday. The funeral director was Ds. Kots. Our condolences are just the next of kin.

In the 1900 census the family was recorded as living in Capel Tsp. Sioux County IA. Peter was born Jan 1865 and his wife was born Oct 1872.

Their marriage was found to have taken place April 17, 1889 in Barendrecht, South Holland, Netherlands. Pieter Rocus Noteboom was 24 years born Barendrecht, son of Jacobus Noteboom 1819 and Cornelia Romeijn 1823. Niesje Groeneweg was 16 yrs born at Barendrecht to Pleum Groeneweg 1847 and Adriana Nugeren 1865-1940. The children of Pieter and Niesje were - Jacob 1889-1940, Pleum 'Paul' 1891-1966, Cornelius 1893-1970, Jennie 1894-1958, Marie 1896-1969, Gerrit 1898-1964 and Rena 1901-1995.
