Kate Oostra. 81, of Hull, died Friday, January 23 in a hospital at Sioux Center of long illness.
Services »vere held Monday, January 26, in the Hope Christian Reformed Church of Hull. The Rev. Bernard Van Ee officiated.
Burial was in Hope Cemetery under direction of Kraai Funeral Home of Hull.
Mrs. Oostra, the former Kate Van Surksum, was born March 4,1899. in Sioux County.
She was married June 5, 1916 at Doon. They farmed in the Doon and Rock Valley area until 1950 when they retired and moved to Hull. Her husband, John Oostra, died in 1978.
She was a member of Hope Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Mary)Grooters of Sanborn, Mrs. Gerrit (Ruth) Van Engen of Sioux Center and Mrs. Gerrit (Berdina) Van Maanen of Lakewood, Calif.;
nine sons, Richard of Sioux Center, John Jr. of Hudsonville, Mich., Ralph and Robert, both of Hul!, Marinus of Ferndale, Wash., Gerald of Sheldon, Jake and Andrew both of Rock Valley, and William of Winneconne, Wis.; 47 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Nellie) De Jongh and Mrs. Lou B. Van Batavia, both of Hull; and three brothers, Jake of Bellflower, Calif., John of Corona, Calif., and Williyi of Hull
